Profile - All About Stephen

"I specialize in healing/meditation/spiritual/inner peace music that promotes a harmonious balancing effect on the mind, body, and the Spirit".

“While many artists take their first recording to the world in the search for their audience, I chose to wait, trusting without really knowing what I was waiting for. I just ‘knew’ that there was something deeper than what I was doing. My first three CD's were progressively leading me away from my true essence, and I eventually realized that the music was not to be my tool for personal transformation.... that my path was to do the inner work and become a conduit for Spirit”.

“I howled, drummed, danced, prayed, sang, found teachers and read their books, went to sacred grounds, gatherings and seminars, sat frustrated, prayed some more, sobbed, screamed and laughed, left my body and walked inside a rock the size of a garage and had a simultaneous visitation by 30 entities followed by sitting in a field of love that was so strong it became visible as the most incredible, warm, beautiful light.... where I sat.... forever transformed."

The music was then free to be the vehicle for the expression of the beauty, radiance and perfection of Divinity Personified.

After this experience, 12 new CD's were recorded in the following 18 months, beginning with "The Dance Of Spirit, Vol 1", and culminating with "The HeartSong of The Buffalo". Click on "Original Music" on the top of this page to hear a sample of every song on each CD.

Stephen Pike began playing on the piano when he was 4 years old, finding sounds in the world and matching them up with notes on the keyboard. He became a  professional at the age of 14, and spent the next decade performing a wide variety of music styles. From rock to country, swing to jazz standards, he played piano, guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, auto harp, harmonica and percussion. Eventually playing a Hammond B-3 organ, he kicked bass pedals in a power trio, covering songs by groups like Santana and Chicago.

After playing the club circuit throughout the 70’s, he decided to take a break from the music scene and explore other avenues of creativity. Becoming a self-taught commercial photographer, he moved to Seattle where he owned a successful photography studio for six years. Returning to Missoula, Montana, Stephen continued his photographic career exploring the artistic boundaries of the medium. Examples of his photographic work can be seen on his CD covers.

He began composing original instrumental music in 1992, when he found a keyboard that contained digital samples of all those instruments that he played back in the 60's & 70's.  He was influenced by Swiss harpist Andreas Vollenweider, Yanni, Kitaro, Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues and the outrageous creativity of Bela Fleck, (all of whom he saw in concert during one 6 month period).

Inspired by his interaction with nature and wild birds, Stephen worked on his compositions for four years and released his first CD "For All Who Fly" in 1996.

Returning to his inspirational resources in early 2001, he released his second CD, "Wind Spirit" - music for relaxation.

His third CD, a world/jazz endeavor titled "Indigo Man", was released at a solo concert at the Panida Theater in Sandpoint, Idaho, on April 6, 2002.

He never did learn how to read music, and 57 years later is still creating music but with a unique approach. He began composing his original music in 1992. His musical influences include Swiss harpist Andreas Vollenweider, Yanni, Kitaro, Bela Fleck, Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues, and David Helfgott, whose life was chronicled in the movie "Shine".

The gift of visual/auditory synesthesia (hearing what something looks like), and a 25-year career in photography add to the experience, allowing the music to come through from a photograph.

This background, combined with the experiences of a journey towards Spiritual Enlightenment, results in music directly channeled through the Heart, from Spirit Within.

His goal is Absolute Unity with the Divine.

Stephen has performed his creative music in many places from Arizona to Idaho. In November of 2003, he performed the opening music for the 6th annual Peace Sunday gathering at the Agape Center in Los Angeles, creating a HeartSong for Dennis Kucinich who was the featured speaker. He has performed his soothing music for church groups, retirement homes, and for a gathering of 30 Body, Mind and Spirit healers working simultaneously in a large room. His music is widely used by massage therapists, yoga practitioners, fine art galleries and museums. It has also been played at John of God in Brazil. During the summer of 2005 he completed a very successful 6,000-mile tour promoting his music in 6 of the western and mid-western states. The second tour of the 11 western states began in February of 2006, and has been going continuously ever since.

Stephen also recently co-created a CD with Rev. Donna Corso, of Sacred Earth Enterprises. The CD is titled “Forever with God”. Donna is the personal assistant to Neale Donald Walsch, the best selling author of the “Conversations with God” books. In “Forever with God”, she reads inspirational selections from Neale’s recently released book, “Home with God”, which deals with the subject of death and dying. Being deeply touched by Stephen’s music, she chose him to be the musical vehicle for her readings. “Forever with God” can be purchased through Donna’s own website, http://www.sacredearthpath.org . as well as the CWG foundation’s website, http://www.cwg.org .
